IBL in video format

Author: admin  //  Category: 139

This is my first post as a member of the CILASS SAN. If you know what that means you have been around CILASS enough, if not then it would not seem to be the spirit of what we do for me to tell you; you should use you IBL skills and find out for yourself!Dome of the Rock
I recently finished a video entitled, “the process of archaeology from conception to publication” which was shot in Israel. The trip was not all sun, sea and churches (there are loads!), it was part of a module where we were assessed on various things, one of which was this video.

I had never quite realised before how beneficial IBL was to my learning. We do it so much in my department that I took it a bit for grated, but reflecting I noticed how much it helped me to understand how archaeology worked. It was also a challenge to find out what was needed to a video, who to ask, how to shoot a video, how to edit and how to work with my partner (there was much fighting!).

There may be an article on this in the next ‘crucIBLe’ so I don’t want to ruin it too much, but I do want to give a big cheer for IBL and for Biblical Studies for using it so well!

(As a side not that article may involve some talk of sweating, for which I am sorry. Although I know you now cant wait to read it!)
